Diane Brown
Diane Brown is the author of two poetry books - Before The Divorce We Go To Disneyland, and Learning to Lie Together, two novels, If The Tongue Fits, and verse novel, Eight Stages of Grace; a travel memoir, Liars and Lovers, a prose/poetic work, Here Comes Another Vital Moment, a poetic memoir, Taking My Mother to the Opera and a verse novella, Every Now and Then I Have Another Child. She has recently completed a poetry collection, Growing Up Late and is now working on a prose/poetic exploration of female ancestors, Straight as A Pound of Candles.
She has held the Buddle Findlay Sargeson Fellowship, the Janet Frame Memorial Award, The Michael King Writers Centre Residency and the Beatson Fellowship.
She is a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to writing and education.
She lives in Dunedin with her husband, Philip Temple, and runs her own writing school, Creative Writing Dunedin.
