Amie is privileged to be an aunty, sister, chair of the Kōhanga reo o Whakaari, and daughter within a blended family where Samoan, Dutch, Māori, Norwegian and Fijian cultures are represented and celebrated. Amie’s background is in English and Film and Media studies and she completed her Masters in 2018. Today, Amie is a writer, union delegate, and creative partnerships advisor for the Ara Toi Arts and Culture team at the Dunedin City Council.
