Climb aboard the Story-Time Train and we’ll take you from the Dunedin Railway Station to our story pit in Port Chalmers, where writer/ illustrator Toby Morris will read his picture book The Day the Costumes Stuck and draw some new whacky characters with your input. Costume-making whizz Fifi Colston will be there too. An illustrator, writer, World of Wearable Art designer and TV costume/props maker, she’ll share nifty ideas from her Wearable Wonders book and give eavesdropping parents some sneaky tips for quick costume fixes. Kids can come along in their own favourite costume if they wish (preferably one that doesn’t get stuck). We’ll give prizes to the outfits that make us smile the most. Most suited to ages 3–8.
