Psst! Looking for a Writing Group?

American author Jessamyn West said: “Writing is a solitary occupation. Family, friends, and society are the natural enemies of the writer. He must be alone, uninterrupted, and slightly savage if he is to sustain and complete an undertaking.” Members of a Dunedin writing group (that has been running for 24 years) beg to differ. They’ll offer up tips on how to sustain the solitary writerly life and keep rampant savagery in check; they’ll also launch their new website and radio series and explain their aim of creating a chain of vibrant writing groups throughout Otago. Chaired by Kath Beattie, with panelists Paddy Richardson, Jenny Powell, Maxine Alterio, Penelope Todd, Carolyn McCurdie and Jane Woodham.

Please note that space is lmited so admission cannot be guaranteed.
