Hannah Kent

Picture
“I am in awe of Kent’s gifts as a storyteller.” So said Paula Hawkins, author of Girl on the Train. She wasn’t the only one wowed by Australian author Hannah Kent. Her bestselling debut Burial Rites (a “dark love letter to Iceland”) won universal acclaim and a bunch of awards, and has been translated into 28 languages. Her second novel The Good People (another beautifully eerie work, set against the fairy lore of nineteenth-century rural Ireland) saw her popularity soar even further. Majella Cullinane will seek to find out how Hannah won such novelistic poise, and what draws her to these darker pockets of historical fiction.
