Clementine Ford: Boys Will Be Boys

Picture
As a mother to a son herself, Clementine Ford well knows the prevailing blueprint that a patriarchal society offers up to its males: “Its insidious messaging teaches boys to kill off the emotional parts of themselves, but if we as their protectors do nothing to stop this then we might as well be handing them the knives.” In her latest book, Boys Will Be Boys, she looks at how boys are socialised by patriarchy and the ways in which “the fog of toxic masculinity” is as harmful to males as it is to the females around them. Ford will talk about her incendiary new book with Michèle A’Court (author of Stuff I Forgot to Tell My Daughter).
