Bridget Schaumann has been an avid reader since she first figured out how to do it, and then received a copy of Heidi by Johanna Spyri from Santa. After this, she read the entire contents of the local public library, school library, and any other place she could acquire books from. This behaviour has continued throughout her life and shows no sign of stopping. Bridget reads all the books, every genre and type.
he was the librarian at King's High School for 17 years, was a judge on the New Zealand Children's Book Awards, and has written blogs and contributed to publications and magazines and written reviews about children's books.
She is a reading evangelist and currently works as a facilitator for Services to Schools, National Library of NZ. Bridget is the current chair of the Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival.
