M.J. Carter

M. J. (Miranda) Carter is the author of a series of historical thrillers featuring the detective duo Blake and Avery, starting with The Strangler Vine, which was nominated for the CWA New Blood Dagger, the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the Year. It was followed by The Printers’ Coffin (aka The Infidel Stain) and The Devil’s Feast. Miranda wrote two big history books, Anthony Blunt his Lives and The Three Emperors, but then gave in to a long-held secret desire to write crime novels using the nineteenth century as her backdrop.
