Andrea Insch

Dr. Andrea Insch is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Otago’s Business School. Dr. Insch received her PhD from the School of International Business and Asian Studies at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. Her research is focused on place marketing and the ways that place identity and branding influence the development and competitiveness of cities and nations. She is currently researching the role of residents in city branding. Her research has been published in Cities, International Marketing Review, Journal of Marketing Communications and Journal of Place Marketing and Development. She is currently the Book Review Editor and the Regional Editor for Australia and New Zealand for the journal Place Branding and Public Diplomacy. Dr Insch’s work on place marketing has received a number of awards, including best paper awards at international conferences on place marketing and management, and her paper 'University Students’ Needs and Satisfaction with their Host City' was highly commended in the 2014 Emerald Literati Awards.
