Victor Rodger
Victor Rodger ONZM is a multiple award-winning writer and producer of Samoan and Scottish descent.
His provocative plays often deal with issues of race, sexuality and identity and include the internationally acclaimed BLACK FAGGOT (Edinburgh Fringe 2014) and MY NAME IS GARY COOPER.
Through his theatre entity, FCC (Flow, Create Connect), he has produced several plays which embody his agenda to promote Pasifika works. These include the internationally acclaimed productions of Tusiata Avia’s WILD DOGS UNDER MY SKIRT and THE SAVAGE COLONISER SHOW.
He has held various residencies throughout Aotearoa including the Robert Burns Fellowship and in 2021 he was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to theatre and Pacific arts. Last year he became an Arts Laureate.
