Karen McMillan
Karen McMillan is the author of 25 books, published in eleven countries, a mixture of bestselling fiction, inspiring nonfiction and popular children's books. Her novels include The Paris of the West, The Paris of the East and Brushstrokes of Memory. Her latest historical novel is Turbulent Threads, published by Quentin Wilson Publishing.
Her non-fiction books include Unbreakable Spirit, Everyday Strength, and the WWII memoir From the Blitz to the Burmese Jungle and Beyond. She is also the author of the Elastic Island Adventures and co-writer of the Elemental Heroes children’s series, which are optioned for the screen.
Karen was the resident book reviewer on The Cafe TV3 for two years, and she appears regularly in the media. She is the NZ Herald Books Editor and is the Director of NZ Booklovers. She also instigated the annual NZ Booklovers Awards, now in their eighth year.
