Maxine AlterioMaxine Alterio is a novelist, short story writer and academic mentor. Penguin Books (NZ) published Maxine’s best-selling novels Ribbons of Grace (2007) and Lives We Leave Behind (2012). Steele Roberts (NZ) released Maxine’s well-received collection Live News and Other Stories in 2005. She was the winner of the 2013 Seresin Landfall/Otago University Press Writing Residency and is currently working on a third novel and a second short story collection.
