Ross Calman

Ross Calman (Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāi Tahu) is an Ōtautahi Christchurch based writer and historian. He is the author or co-author of more than a dozen works including He Pukapuka Tātaku i ngā Mahi a Te Rauparaha Nui | A Record of the Life of the Great Te Rauparaha (AUP, 2020) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Lift, 2019).

Earlier this year Ross was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts by the University of Canterbury in recognition of his ‘considerable contribution in the field of Māori history and as a preeminent researcher, editor, translator and publisher’.
